TOPCASHBACK
During my internship at Topcashback I worked on an ongoing live brief which involved introducing the new TopCashback mascot, a hummingbird called TipTop. I developed concepts across different platforms including website, email and social media. It was important for the mascot to connect with the emotions of members by creating joyful moments with the new interfaces.
Website Design
Redesigning webpages on the TopCashback website included the Email Verification page, the Logout page and Return Lightbox. The old web designs were outdated and the interfaces were inconsistent.
OLD WEBPAGES
NEW WEBPAGES:
Email Verification
The new design enhances the sense of user joy and delight when the user authenticates their account. The new design incorporates Tip Top to elevate a positive action and guiding users to the homepage and payout options.
Logout
Tip Top is incorporated in a fun way in the new design to ensure the user feels delight from their last action before leaving the site, as well as boosting engagement to Tell-a-Friend and Browser Extension in the promotional section.
Return Lightbox
The Return Lightbox is when the user returns to the TCB site after visiting the merchants website. The new design incorporates Tip Top to make the user feel joy after making a purchase and confirming their recorded visit, as well as a more concise promotional section below.
Email design
Redesigning and elevating email templates that are regularly sent out to TopCashback members which were outdated, featured irrelevant copy and lacked personality. The mascot is only included on emails that would be associated with positivity and would be joyful for the member such as earning cashback in your account or receiving a gift card.
OLD EMAILS:
Social Media
Designing promotional material used across social media. The designs manipulate static images of the bird and additional assets into dynamic positions to create engaging and playful compositions.
Development Work
My role at TopCashback involved being a multidisciplinary designer working within a small design team so this project was mainly an iterative cycle of concept development and feedback. Miro boards were used to develop mockups and share ideas to gain feedback for improvements.
